About This Experience

Pickups run between 8:50 and 9:10 am from selected Adelaide city hotels, and the first stop is Mt Lofty Summit, about 15 km east of the city, for a 15-minute look across the skyline to the coast. The group then heads to Beerenberg Strawberry Farm, known for its homemade jams, jellies and dessert sauces, for 20 minutes in the farm shop.

The first cellar door is The Lane Vineyard, a 45-minute tasting of cool-climate Adelaide Hills wines with views over vines, lawns and gardens. Two short stops follow: Melba's Chocolate Factory for 20 minutes, where treats are on sale, and Woodside Cheese Cellar for 15 minutes to sample cow, goat and buffalo cheese.

Lunch is two courses with a glass of beer or wine in Hahndorf, which the operator describes as the oldest surviving German town in Australia. After the hour-long meal there is another hour to walk the main street's shops, galleries, museums and cafes. A vegetarian lunch is available if you ask for it when booking.

The last stop is a 45-minute tasting at Sidewood Estate, a family-owned winery with 91 hectares of vineyards, before the drive back to Adelaide. The operator calls the order a sample itinerary: wineries are subject to availability, with The Lane Vineyard or Nepenthe named as alternatives for Sidewood. Bookings are capped at eight travellers, the minimum age is 18, and all sales are final.
